Wichard dedicates two forging production lines with experienced operators to its surgical implant activity. These high-capacity lines are capable of producing over 300,000 parts per year (a 2000 Kg hammer and a 1100 ton forging press).

Wichard develops products according to customer specifications upon request (hip, shoulder, plate…). We use high-speed machining to make tools (reducing time and costs). Forging is the only method that guarantees the internal solidity of metal and improves its mechanical characteristics by aligning the material's fibers. All our products are forged, and carefully controlled and tested according to extremely rigorous procedures to ensure their quality. We monitor our machining centers in-house to eliminate the bond line by contouring, sand blasting, polishing, and vibratory finishing. Our control methods include: liquid penetrant testing, metallurgic analysis, macrography, and destructive tests on test pieces. We work with a network of approved subcontractors for machining, polishing, etc.
